Hello, 
I’m Shamarr Mason founder/owner of Blakoffe LLC.  I felt it was important for me to share why I decided to start Blakoffe. It has always been a dream of mine to one day own a restaurant. I am a trained and certified chef for over 16 years. Since I was a young boy I’ve always enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Over the past 3 years I’ve become fascinated with coffee, after taking many trips to Africa. So my unwavering love for food has now merged with the origin of coffee. 
 
Back in 2006 I decided to leave my comfort zone and move from Trenton, New Jersey  to Dallas, Texas. I must admit it wasn’t easy to just pick up and leave my family. I felt deep down there had to be some much more. Little did I know after making such a hard decision, it would change my life forever. 
 
 On May 4,  2008 I lost my best friend to a senseless robbery murder. That friend just so happened to be my father, Richard Mason. His life was taken suddenly. He and I were preparing to open a restaurant in Dallas, Texas together. It all happened 2 days before he was suppose to take a trip to Dallas to meet with a realtor for our first location. 

My father was my encourager, supporter, and mentor. When I lost him apart of me felt lifeless. But I can honestly say the part that died has truly awakened again, and I’m determined beyond words. I know sharing such a story on this site may be a little to transparent. But I’m willing to be as vulnerable, with all those I come in contact with. This has truly been a journey.  Blakoffe is a dream coming true.
