When seeking to produce the highest quality coffee, it is imperative for the coffee roaster to have a close relationship with the coffee farmer. This allows the two parties to work hand-in-hand to provide the customer with the best product. By maintaining this relationship the roaster can guarantee consistent outcomes.
For example, in order to roast the purest coffee, beans that were picked by the farmer on Tuesday should not be mixed with beans that were picked on Saturday. If roasted together, this will make for inconsistencies in the taste of the coffee. However, when the farmer and roaster work together the best results can be achieved and consistently replicated.
